Y Combinator and others are participating to raise funds for Employee social network Mesh

One of Silicon Valley’s one of the most influential startups, Y Combinator has backed Mesh which is an internal social network for employees.

Founders of Cure.fit, Meesho, and, and CleverTap, and also the US seed-stage fund Liquid 2 Ventures, Xiaomi  and few others participated in the funding round.  It was started in March this year by Rahul Singh, Gaurav Chawbey, and Saurabh Nangia, an internal social platform being built by Mesh  which will help employees to track their weekly and daily tasks. Also, it will help in getting timely feed-back from the managers and also help in managing long-term goals.

Chief executive Saurabh Nangia told, "At present, corporates typically use two disparate platforms, one for managing their monthly and quarterly goals, and another one for managing their daily and weekly deliverables. We are offering both in a central place, thereby making performance management a simple, ongoing habit rather than a forced, periodic process"

He also said, "The goal is to capture real-time data about employees and start giving these insights back to both employees, as well as the leaders and the managers within the company."

To help employees interact with their co-workers, to recreate a physical office environment, Mesh also has a Facebook-like social feed. The users can like and comment and also share work progress in the feed concerning every co-workers.

Nangia also said, “Mesh is also planning to integrate data from third-party platforms such as customer relationship management platforms onto the feed.”
