India was successful in Testing Hypersonic Technology Demonstrator Vehicle

India was successful in Testing Hypersonic Technology Demonstrator Vehicle

Joining an elite group of countries i.e. the US, Russia and China, who possess the technology , India on Monday conducted a successful test flight of the indigenously developed Hypersonic Technology Demonstrator Vehicle (HSTDV). 

Low cost and reusable satellite-launch vehicles would be handy as the HSDTV has a range of uses, including missiles of the future for air defence, surveillance and reconnaissance besides in the development of energy-efficient. 

This has come just in the wake of the time when India was acquiring the ability to utilize missiles to shoot down a satellite in space. India has also demonstrated about having acquired submarine-driven nuclear deterrence capability two years ago (2018). 

Also this test flight also came in the midst of intrusion which was made  by Chinese troops into Indian territory. The tensions have been rising towards boiling point with thousands of troops facing off across the borders.  

“I congratulate DRDO on this landmark achievement towards realising PM’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat," he said referring to prime minister Narendra Modi’s “self reliant" India campaign that aims to transform Asia’s third largest economy into a manufacturing hub. “I spoke to the scientists associated with the project and congratulated them on this great achievement.
